This J handle handled walking cane gives the look of an authentic scrimshaw etched carving. The nicely designed delicate looking leave and acorn on the tip will still be seen when one's hand is using this cane; which will guarantee many compliments. 

Scrimshaw etching is a unique art form dating back to the American Whale man. Once carved and finely detailed out of ivory or whale bone, you'll find our selection is art-crafted from a resin material to look like an original. The silver ring collar also brings sophistication to the neck of the black beechwood shaft. It is treated with a semi-gloss water-resistant finish for protection. Also, the wood is kiln-cured for strength and durability. Compared to other canes, these are more resistant to splintering or cracking, ensuring a superior product. The "Standard Size" for this cane is 36 Inches. This is the maximum length that this cane is manufactured.
(You may choose to have the cane shortened if the "Optional Sizing" option is available under the "Add to Cart" button.)

To check to see if the size adjustment above will fit the cane user please use the information below to determine the users size*.

(If the adjustment range will not fit the user please call to place your order. We may be able to cut down the cane to make it adjust in size in a shorter height. Canes cut from their original size will incur a 30% restocking fee if returned)

Choose 1 of 3 easy ways to determine cane length.

1. Measure the size of an existing cane.
   Do this method by simply measuring from the lowest part on the top of the handle to the bottom of the rubber tip. Round up to the nearest half inch. (see Diagram Above)
2. Measure the cane user
   1. Put on the user's walking shoes.
   2. Have the user stand naturally upright as much as possible.
   3. Have their arms fall to the sides naturally with a normal relaxed bend at the elbow. (Please see Diagram Above for correct posture)
   4. Using a tape measure or yard stick, measure the distance from their wrist joint (bottom crease at the wrist) down to the floor. Round up to the nearest half inch.
      (**For accurate length a second person must read measurement to prevent wrist from moving)
3. Measure half the height in inches. (Only use if Step 1 or 2 are not available as options)
   (Although this works for most cane users it is not always exact. Choose this option at your
   own risk a 30% restocking fee applies to all returned cut canes)
   Most users cane measurements will be within one inch of half the users height.
   1. Convert height into inches...(example 66 Inches) then divide in half = 33 inches.
      (round up to the nearest half inch.)
   2. Then add half an inch to this height.
   3. After receiving product use step #2 to confirm and change size if needed.

The Estimated height would be 33.5 inches for this example.

Sizing is a free courtesy. In most cases, sized canes will ship the same day. In rare cases sizing requests may not or cannot be sized. In these rare situations "pick up" call tags will not be issued and the item must be sent back to us to be sized. We will not ship out a new product. Please always check the item upon delivery to confirm the requested size. Canes can always be shortened but may not be lengthened.
