The deep reddish brown wood this walking cane is made of is naturally perfect. Padauk wood is a gorgeous wood that has a natural reddish color. A six inch section of the shaft has been spiral cut to look like the wood is twisted like a rope. The entire shaft is sanded and varnished to really make the rope effect stand out. The wood grain is subtle but can be seen throughout the shaft and derby handle.
